I’m really pleased to announce that from today you’ll be able to get Blackberry services on giffgaff.  You can now get a Blackberry add on to your goodybag for an additional £3, which will give you access to full Blackberry services, such as BBM.

We’ve had lots of giffgaff members asking for us to provide Blackberry services both here on the Forum and in our Social networks, especially on our Facebook page.

Unfortunately we had to delay the launch of Blackberry due to some service issues which impacted our core infrastructure however with fixes made (and being made), I’m happy to say that we are now in a position to push Blackberry live. For those giffgaffers who buy the Hokey Cokey goodybag, you’ll have a little longer to wait (sorry) as we are still working on adding the functionality to buy it with Hokey Cokey.

We had some handy giffgaffers helping with the testing of Blackberry so thank you to all of those who helped out.

So, that’s it, giffgaff meet Blackberry, Blackberry meet giffgaff.  Why not pass on the good news and let your friends who are on Blackberry know that giffgaff is up and running with BB.

Isn't there a way of swapping the unlimted internet we get free with our goody bags to unlimted blackberry internet? Because I already pay £10 a month for unlimited internet I'm not able to use cos I have a black berry so jus swap it for bb internet rather than pay extra 3pound? Can someone get back to me on this??? X

@rcburke2

When a goodybag becomes active it is near impossible to cancel it. So no you carn't sorry :smileysad:

and the £3 addon does not come with internet usage on its own.

You have to purchase £10 goodybag which has unlimited internet then combined with £3 addon.

Give you unlimited internet + blackberry services on you blackberry :smileyhappy:

Why am i not allowed to purchase a blackberry add-on without purchasing a goodybag?? I purchased a goodybag when i ordered my sim last week, and now i can't get the add-on working unless i pay for ANOTHER goodybag??????

Is there any chance this will be changed? Or have I wasted my money?

@benjamin_hayes

The BIS (or Blackberry Add-on) must run in conjunction with a Goodybag. It cannot be added to a a GG Goodybag after it has been purchased and activated.

In order for GG to do this, they would have to calculate a daily cost for the BIS, and then calculate the pro-rata cost to each individual member of who requests it. The man hours would be stupidly high.

BIS is now here, and it works. But you will have to wait until your next goodybag to add the BIS to it - just like everyone else including me.

Yes, my goodybag status has been "updating" all day so far - no BB service. Looks like they're taking time to put everyone onto the system(?).
