Hi, I'm confidence... a feeling of self-assurance arising from ones appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities. Like when you look in the mirror before you go out, realise you're pretty sexy and end up making out with that crush of three years you were too shy to talk to. Or maybe I'm just a guy tapping away on a Macbook... or both. Probably both.
I'm also on the gg forums, and you may know that I created My giffgaff, giffgaff's unofficial iPhone app.
It has had its ups and downs, much like its developer (on an up right now, thanks for asking... and thanks Red Bull). It's been a bit of hassle trying to give a consistent user experience with all the perks that these lovely iDevices have to offer (but not maps...) while being on the outside. I only ever had the same information that was available to any other member... which sometimes meant an unstable app - and upset members.
No-one likes to make people upset, especially giffgaff. (This app was once on the ideas board dontchaknow, and payback?, how about this for iPhone owners)
So, they thought... "Why not bring this confidence guy/noun in-house and give him access to the tools he needs to make a really cool app? We'll even give him the help of our devilishly talented designers, developers, testers, and gg staffers."
"Let's make this new app the official giffgaff app and raise the bar."
I said "Sí."
Here's what we ended up with - a brand spanking newly designed app that will let you:
- check your goody bags and airtime balance.
- check your payback points (I bet you have loads)
- top up your giffgaff number.. (you will need to enter your password for security reasons)
- spread your affiliate link via email, sms, facebook, twitter, and more soon
- browse the community and do whatever you normally do on these lovely forums
- check your number, fiddle with message settings, bunch of extra stuff.
And this is just version 1! But when will it be out? We're doing some final internal testing right now, and we're looking at the end of the month to get it out (as long as it passes Apple's certification).
