I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right place or whether it reflects the huge reliance I have on Giffgaff, but here goes...
I use my PDA extensively for GPS work, utilising Ordnance survey digital maps. For a while now, I've noticed that though OS maps are far from cheap, they are not particularly accurate and are out of date for certain terrain features - the 2008 versions.
Using Google maps on my PDA, in conjunction with the OS digital maps, I have been able to identify specific locations where there is a disparity between Google mapping/imaging and OS mapping.
Google maps are extemely greedy consumers. When I initially started this project with a different sim card provider, I used up £20 of credit in the blink of an eye.
Giffgaff has enabled me to continue this exercise on a negligible charge basis, and I've found lots of areas where OS is way behind the times, even though it is the flagship for mapping in the UK.
This is not the only use I have for my Giffgaff sim. It is the heart of my PDA: computing, transmitting, receiving ...
I dread to think what I'll do if all stops after May!
