Slowing down?

Hi all

I must admit to only being active in the forums for just a week or so, but there seems to be few thread updates considering this project is young and exciting.

Can we have an update of new user numbers? How are people finding the service?

Well, it's possible to see how many usernames there are on here, by hovering your cursor on the recent new members section and looking on your browser status bar, thus there are a bit over 2000 members so far.

bigfatbball2 and I were speculating when it will reach 3000, and seem to agree on some time in mid-February. There have been about 300 new members a week for much of January, and it has looked like it might pick up a bit, with over 70 on one day last week. It's likely to accelerate more and more as people hear about it.

Perhaps about 20% of users are active in the forum, people on the giffgaff staff have said, which they say is way above averages of 1% or so, not too surprising given giffgaff's stated aim of being internet based.

How many usernames on here have actually ordered a SIM card? Well, we don't know, and that would of course be commercially privileged info, so there wouldn't be official comment unless they wanted to, but it's possible to make some sort of a guess. Out of those people not active on the forum, why join if it's not to order a SIM?

In use, well you can see the sort of things people are saying. Personally, I've only just really started using my giffgaff SIM, as an O2 contract came to its end in the last week or so. Apart from the coverage sometimes being a bit weak where I live which of course is an O2 issue and I already knew anyway, things look good.

Re: Slowing down?

For me it's been great both in terms of the service and customer support.
