HTC Touch Diamond

I could not find settings for this device. Auto set-up with a text to 2020 fails.

So I found HD Diamond settings on the forum and used those.

The internet connection seems to be a little flaky especially the email sync.

With the same settings it will work sometimes and not others? I am really confused.

Thanks in advance.

Re: HTC Touch Diamond

Hi tmohammad,

these settings are the ones you want to use:

It's weird that it's flaky - check your reception otherwise those settings should hopefully solve the issue

Re: HTC Touch Diamond

Using these settings.

The reception seems to be OK, its just that email sync every now and again just acts as if there is no connection there... even though other apps can be used to send/recieve data from the internet.

Is there a special setting for email that I am missing somewhere? If it did not work all the time I would know that its a setup problem. As it happens it works sometimes for gmail and not sky and sometimes the other way around!

Really weird.

Re: HTC Touch Diamond

HI tmohammed.

Can you please confirm the following information:

you are using @sky.com as part of your login details?

Have you manually assigned the ports as follows:  POP3 - Port 995 And set to use SSL, SMTP Port 465 and SSL

What you may also find is that there is a box coming up in the Diamonds Mail app, saying that the certificate is invalid, with which you need to click yes to continue, to get to this, click on mail, and then inbox and then connect and it should come up.

Let us know how you get on.

Cheers

Andy

Re: HTC Touch Diamond

Hi Andy,

Thanks for that... but I am using IMAP so the port is 993.

If it did not connect at all then I would guess its something in the settings. But at times it connects & syncs with the sky email no problems at all. It will also do gmail as I have two accounts set up. Sometimes it just refuses. Its logs in and then checks for changes and then decides that there is no connection!!!! It there was no connection whats it logged into???

As for the certificate... this does not appear on my phone!
