Hey People,
I've been having trouble sending texts to my friend in Florida, America, when I was with o2 the texts got to their phone & theirs got to me no problem, but since I've changed to GiffGaff I've been sending texts & they haven't reached my friend, they changed networks around the same time but they can still send texts & I'll get them, they have been in touch with their network & the network can't figure out the problem, I emailed GiffGaff at least 2 or 3 weeks ago & I'm still waiting for a reply, I can call my friend in the States still no problem but I would like to sort this texting problem out ASAP & not waste my money. Oh & I have another friend in New York & my texts get through to their phone no problem still. Any ideas? =S

Probably best off asking an agent rather than emailing giffgaff - there seems to have been a bit of an issue with emails to them not getting through for some reason. You can check for responses to your ask an agent queries by checking your support messages page.

thanks for the reply Simon, but that is how I tried to get in touch with GiffGaff, I thought it was the same as emailing them since the 1st query i had was answered by them to my email account, sorry.

It sounds like O2 is having problems sending texts to the new network your Florida friend is now on, and it could be a fault at either end. This can be one of the more opaque gremlins for networks to sort out but it's usually only a matter of time, I experienced it myself with receiving texts from Brunei a couple of years ago.

Hmm well if you used the ask an agent link and haven't received a reply then that is quite a serious issue in and of itself! You should be getting at least an acknowledgement that someone is looking into the issue! Did you check the messages link to see if you had any replies from an agent? Unfortunately a limitation of the ask an agent system is that it won't email you to tell you there has been a response - you have to check yourself on that page. If there really is no response then send a message to vincent (the giffgaff community manager) and highlight the issue to him - both your original query and the fact that your ask an agent received no response.

thank you both for your help, my friend has now been told that her phone needs troubleshooting which i guess is some sort of repairing, when that is finished i'll let you know & hopefully that will sort out the issue.

probably gettin lost on the way? I remember last year with t-mobile most of my texts wouldnt get sent to spain.

ok dude, i know this sounds stupid but make sure they are not blocking/ barring your number.
i had a similar problem where i could recieve their texts but they didnt get mine, turned out they had sumhow accidentaly blocked my number.

I dont think his number is blocked, becuase he said he can call normally its just texts that have problems.
