My giffgaff Account says my SIM has been activiated.
My phone says my SIM is unregistered.
My 'phone therefore, is unuseable, what should I do next?

Have you tried switching the phone off and removing and re-inserting the SIM?

If your phone is O2 it should work, if not then thats where the problem may lie.
Have you topped-up yet? Until you top-up there will be no signal(registration failed) from your sim...
I wish GG would sort this issue out because it's undoubtedly becoming a major stumbling block! A lot of punters are discarding the sims because of this set-up, they think the cards a dud and can't be bothered with the hassle ![]()
People shouldn't need to come onto the forum and asking for help, they should just be able to top-up and get on with it like any other sim card lets them do.
I'll tell you how it works(based on genuine feedback)...
- People receive the sim pack.
- They open it and take the sim out of its holder(which usually gets discarded and with it their activation code thus rendering the sim useless)
- They put the sim in the phone and get 'registration failed'
- They take the sim out and put their old one back in.
- End of story!

Problem is in this day and age people have no peserverance and thats something we can do very little about, people just want to put their sim in the phone and get on with it, not register to use some forum where everybodys moaning about the service!

Hey
Main thing is to see whther the Sim is damaged in anyway. Firstly, try it on another phone. If it doesnt work still, then it's a faulty sim. If it does work, then the fault is with the phone.
Also to be noted, that activation of a sim can vary, so make sure your patient for 24 hours

Hi glb2mvb,
Are you sure your phone is unlocked (or at least locked to the O2 network)? Because if it isn't it could well come up with that message.
It sounds like you have a fully functioning sim card, but a locked phone to me.
Cheers,
