Can GiffGaff be used on Tesco Mobile phones?

I Am thinking of buying a phone as a gift and the phone I fancy is on Tesco Mobile PAYG which I gather is network locked.

Apparently, Tesco Mobile now runs on O2 as well , so can GiffGaff SIMS be used on a Tesco Mobile phone please?

Cheers - Frank

Most of the time Yes just put the sim in and set it up with following settings. If not then it will need to be unlocked. http://giffgaff.com/unlock

Try the easy option first, but this is not always compatible with new smartphones.
what phone do you have?
Text "settings to "2020"
Or "mms" to "1010"

Here are the basic APN Settings. Which "should" work on all phones.

Manual Settings:

GPRS-3G Settings

Connection/Username Name: giffgaff
APN - Access Point Name: giffgaff.com
Proxy Server Address: 193.113.200.195
Proxy Port:8080
Login - Username: giffgaff
Password: password
MCC: 234
MNC: 10

MMS Settings

Connection/username Name: giffgaff - MMS
APN - Access Point Name: giffgaff.com
Username: giffgaff
Password: password
Server: http://mmsc.mediamessaging.co.uk:8002
MMSC: http://mmsc.mediamessaging.co.uk:8002
MMS proxy: 193.113.200.195
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 234
MNC: 10
APN type: mms

Re: Can GiffGaff be used on Tesco Mobile phones?

The answer is Maybe.....

Some Tesco mobiles are double locked to the Tesco Network even tho it runs on the O2 network.

But some Tesco phones are not.

You will need to put working Giffgaff sim in and see if it works, if not then take it to a shop and get it unlocked.

Hope this helps :smileyhappy:

The majority are though iPhones are single locked to O2. Unless its an iPhone I wouldn't risk it unless you have a cheap way to unlock it
