ok, ive run that app but it hasnt found settings for giffgaff, its found O2-UK PREPAID, O2-UK, TESCO,

what do i do next?

Just put the apn settings in maunally like i have done.

to do this goto:

settings menu

goto mobile network

scroll down to edit apn

then add the settings. the settings are available from someone on this site

Entering the details as above will only allow you to use the internet, not use MMS. To use MMS, you need to:

 

If the network setup app fails to sort this for you, you need to:

 

 - Uninstall the network setup app

 - Go to dial a phone number and dial ##634#

 

This will launch a diagnostics and advanced configuration tool. It's important not to alter any other settings other than those outlined below.

 

 - Select APN settings

 - Swipe across to MMS APN

whilst using diagnostic tool, i noticed in settings my hsdpa setting was off? can i set this to on and get quicker internet on my phone? should i run the diagnostic test?

on the settinngs it doesnt ask for all the settings on that link, it would be great if soeone actually has a lumia 800 so they actually know all i need to enter....................

done the ## thing and it still doesnt allow me to send or receive mms

In order to send or receive SMS you also must turn on data in your mobile network settings as SMS messages won't transmit over wifi for Windows phones
