Re: internet settings iphone

Hi. Ser here.
Gg iphone settings.
If you have wifi, you can download the giffgaff app. This can set your apn settings for you, but you will need to set your mms settings manually. Or you can enter all the settings manually. See here.
Delete any profiles installed, even GiffGaff. Go to settings / general and scroll down to see if any profiles are installed. If so then delete them. Then

Go to Settings
General
Mobile Data
Then scrol l down to Mobile Data Network

Mobile Data

APN ... giffgaff.com
Username ... vertigo
Password ... password
Visual Voicemail (just leave as is, giffgaff do not support visual voicemail)

MMS

APN ... giffgaff.com
Username ... vertigo
Password ... password
MMSC http://mmsc-ac.mms.o2.co.uk:10021/mmsc
MMS Proxy 193.113.200.195:8080
Max message size 2097152
MMS UA Prof URL (just leave blank)
Do NOT press the " Reset Settings " button when you’ve done this.

Once the settings are in, turn your iphone off ( via the red slider ) till the screen is completely blank. Then reboot. If you do not see the apple logo, the settings will not stick.

Then, press Settings /Messages and ensure that MMS Messaging button is set to ON.

In settings messages turn imessages on.

Please also ensure that the Enable 3G button and the Mobile Data button are set to ON. (Press Settings, then General, then Mobile Data).

Then Settings /Phone And check My Number is correct

Go to Settings /Carrier and switch automatic On. The carrier should then show O2-UK

Also note that Picture messages cost 16p and are not included in any goodybags.

Also the mms must be kept under 300 kb in file size.

To set up imessage.

Make sure you are running the latest ios software.
Select settings
Select messages
Enable imessage
You should see a message saying activating
Scroll the page up. You will see.
Send and receive. Click on addresses.
On that page you will see your phone numbers and email addresses.
Thats it.

[ Edited ]

I don't know which settings you are using but iphones use the username "vertigo". There's also an official giffgaff app for iphones.

Re: internet settings iphone

Try

[ Internet Settings Problems ]

See if theres any problems in your area @ http://status.o2.co.uk/

( Next option if the o2 status checker says that everything is ok in your area is to try the steps below )

[ Balance Check ]

Dial *100# for your remaining credit

or visit http://giffgaff.com/dashboard - online -

Dial *100*7# for your goodybag allowance

[ Next Steps ]

1, Try a internet apn Reset

Or try number 2 ( if you dont have the number 1 option )

2, Try deleting any old or even giffgaff Wap / Apn ( internet settings ) - if you have any stored -

Then you might want to delete any

-Data

-Wap

-Internet Accounts (if you have Advanced options and then Power the Mobile/Unit Off for a minute or two and Power back On and then input the settings found below )

Re: internet settings iphone

Make sure that your iPhone is unlocked or on the 02 network.

Please double-check and manually enter these settings on your iPhone as follows:
iPhone Internet Settings:

From your iPhone home screen, click on the icon "Settings" > click "General" > click "Network" > click "Mobile Data Network" > tap on the words next to "APN" and you'll then be able to edit the settings

APN - giffgaff.com
Username - vertigo
Password - password (This is the word "password" not your giffgaff password)

iPhone MMS Settings:

From your iPhone home screen, click on the icon "Settings" > click "General" > click "Network" > click "Mobile Data Network" > scroll down the page a bit, you'll see "MMS" settings tap on the words next to "APN" and you'll then be able to edit the settings

APN - giffgaff.com
Username - vertigo
Password - password (This is the word "password" not your giffgaff password)
MMSC - http://mmsc.mediamessaging.co.uk:8002
MMS Max Message Size - 2097152

N.B. MMS will NOT work unless 3G is ON. (Settings > General > Network) Make sure Enable 3G is set to ON.

Also check the MMS button in the Settings. (Settings > Messages) Make sure MMS Messaging is set to ON.

And finally remember that picture messages cost 16p and are not included in any goodybags, i.e. you need credit
If I have helped, please Kudos Me :smileyhappy:
