Re: internet settings on iphone

Enter the settings into your iPhone exactly like this:

(go to Settings -> General -> Network -> Cellular Data Network)

Cellular Data
APN: giffgaff.com
Username: giffgaff
Password: password

Visual Voicemail
leave blank cos it doesnt work anyway

MMS
APN: giffgaff.com
Username: giffgaff
Password: password
MMSC: http://mmsc.mediamessaging.co.uk:8002
MMS proxy: 193.113.200.195:8080
MMS Max Message Size: 2097152
MMS UA Prof URL: leave blank

Re: internet settings on iphone

Once you have entered all these settings as above then you need to turn your iPhone off and then on and these settings will get picked up and you should be able to connect to the internet.

If you are ever promopted to update your carrier settings on ether your phone or in iTunes then say no, otherwise these settings will be overwritten.

To be pedantic you dont need to reboot. Much easier to just turn Aeroplane mode off/on to force a network search. Saves time rebooting

Most times you dont even need to do that

Re: internet settings on iphone

Ok, I've entered the information stated, but when I open Safari, it says 'Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet'. How can I stop this happening? Also, How do I make it state 'giffgaff' as carrier rather than 'O2-UK'?

Try restarting your phone, if that does not work contact an agent you may have a data bar

you can but it is a long way read this - http://i-enthusiast.com/2010/06/change-your-carrier-name-without-jailbreak/

Re: internet settings on iphone

you will still get O2 as your carrier as GG use O2 Settings

make sure you have below settings.. do not use INTERNET TETHRING option that will bring back original providers settings..(if your phone is locked to O2)

Enter the settings into your iPhone exactly like this:

(go to Settings -> General -> Network -> Cellular Data Network)

Cellular Data
APN: giffgaff.com
Username: giffgaff
