Some questions?

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I was thinking of porting into Giffgaff.

but before i do so i want to know the following.

1. If i top up, how long will the credit last. For example, if i dont use the credit for some time will it expire or anything like that?

2. Is there a fair use policy on the free wap.

3. What are the payment methods, and is it safe to use a bank card?

4. If i don't like the network, can i port out? how do i get a PAC code from giffgaff and is there any policy such as needing to top up before i can get a PAC or something like that?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

2. Is there a fair use policy on the free wap. Yes, 100MB per day

3. What are the payment methods, and is it safe to use a bank card? Only Credit/Debit card at the moment but Vincent says that e-voucher are coming soon. It is as secure as any internet site for using your bank card I guess. It has a https site.

4. If i don't like the network, can i port out? how do i get a PAC code from giffgaff and is there any policy such as needing to top up before i can get a PAC or something like that? Yep, you can port out. There is a "ask an agent" option for requesting a PAC.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

Re: Some questions?

You have to top up to activate the sim. If you port out it is the same as any PAYG - you lose any outstanding balance at the point that your giffgaff sim is deactivated.

Also just wondering, if i want to port my number in... do i activate & top up first & then port in? or is it the other way round?

Re: Some questions?

You need to have an activated sim before you can port in so - activate and top up first.

Re: Some questions?

The only credit you can lose is what is still on your sim when you port - as there is a bit of time for requesting the port in to it taking place, you can burn off any outstanding credit in that time. I lost £0.07 whe I ported from Tesco to giffgaff.

Porting in is 2 working days from when you give giffgaff your pac code. This is the industry standard so the port-in will take place on Monday.

Re: Some questions?

Yes you can still use the giffgaff sim until sometime during the day of the port in Then you will lose the connection for a couple of hours while the actual port in is completed by giffgaff.
