BBC -The Internet Revolution

[ Edited ]

Anyone else watched the series? If so what did you think about it?

I think the journalist is pretty paranoiacing especially in the 3rd episode - there's no privacy invasion if a computer accesses these databases or analyses emails to target ads.Privacy invasion only comes if you accept anyone on facebook and click on bogus stuff.

Internet addiction is definetly a risk and already a reality for any iPhone power-user - Japan would probably have been a better example of our future for internet (well at least we should hope it will ever become our future).

Yea, watched some of the episodes. Quite good actually. And privacy is quite a big deal, as shown when the search engine, think it was AOL, who "accidently" leaked out infromation of all the searches made... Eventhough there was no name tagged to the searched made by the individuals, a person still managed to track one down just to see how easy it was. All he did was look into the searches that person made...

Everything is stored, our whole life is now digitalised

Yeah guys I caught some of this a few nights ago.

The thing that disturbs me most is those poor kids that became addicted to the internet at 6 or 7 years of age.

' I blame the parents' doesnt seem to cover this one.

There are a lot of things out there that say we are moving towards complete and utter reliance to the digital world.

Does anyone remember the idea of penpals at school? It might sound funny but this may well be an alien idea to todays kids.

Its like the ending of every Terminator movie or big budget Hollywood blockbuster. the machines are gona get us! lol :smileyvery-happy:

On a more light hearted note, I'm looking forward to the interactive hover-chairs that we will all live on like the documentary cartoon Wall-e. :smileyhappy:

Re: BBC -The Internet Revolution

The lady presenter gets some of the facts wrong every week. Others she over sensationalises!. Made a error regarding Twitter and Facebook last week which paints a wrong understanding.
