Setting up gmail/googlemail

Setting up Orange / Wanadoo / Freeserve Emails

Before hand: Orange supposedly requires use of a 3rd party SMTP Server to send mail from your mobile, in this case we are using O2's. Also, please change "yourname" for your orange/wanadoo/freeserve internet username. Please checkout the Push message Setup if you're having problems

Known issues and Workarounds

 

  • Some ISP's require you to use a 3rd party SMTP server (to send emails). We have suggested O2 as giffgaff uses the O2 network. You will need an O2 username and password with you will use to login to the SMTP server. We have privided the register link next to the authentication for the smtp. Or click here.

 

Known unsupported phones

 

  • Sony Ericsson K750 - Doesn't support SSL/TLS correctly
