Mobilise entire site

Status: Idea Vault

Currently only the community is accessable from a mobile (and the login page isn't). It would be nice if the entire site was optimised for mobile :smileyhappy:

Anyone with me? Then we wouldn't need apps (which are sometimes difficult for the author to update) as we could access it online

Actually Apps are much better than having a mobile page.

Apps use less data than loading an entire webpage as the app only needs to download the values needed such as your balance etc because the graphics and other elements are built into the app.

A reason for this is that the community is powered by Lithium, who I believe make the mobile site, so it would be up to giffgaff themselves to mobilise the site.

xmob is already working on it, with the blessing of Sir Vincent.

Personally I think this idea will be dead in a few years as most new phones can view full web pages.. Every new phone I have bought in the last 3 years has had full internet viewing or the option to select it.

Like mhoobag1 said above as more newer phones are released a lot will be able to access the site as a full wbpage and in fact my Nokia N900 aleeady does this.

But will be a good idea to do it for older phones.

The speeds aren't good enough though. I sometimes use mobile sites on my computer when Tiscali is being REALLY slow :smileyhappy:
