- iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1 (may work on future versions)
Since iOS4.X, Apple have been signing the carrier bundles they distribute (to prevent users from tethering without access)
Previously you could edit the 'carrier.plist' found in Users/Library/Carrier Bundles/ and change the 'Voicemail Pilot number' to read 443 (instead of 901), but this can now only be accomplished by patching the CommCentre (not a simple task), Users who did try to edit the file without patching the CommCentre are welcomed by this:
Here is how to Successfully change the Voicemail Number:
1. Open Cydia and search for 'TetherMe'
It costs £3, but this is worth it in my mind.
2. Once installed, Respring and now proceed to Users/Library/Carrier Bundles/.
Open the 'Carrier.plist' using iFile (on the device) or copy it to your PC or Mac and edit it via notepad /text edit
Fine the 'Voicemail Pilot Number' and edit the value to read 443
3. Save the file, and reboot
How it works?
TetherMe bypasses the signature check carried out for Apple and the mobile Carrier (which in our case is O2)
