Thinking of switching from O2 to GiffGaff soon

Hi there :smileyhappy:

[1]Will I be able to keep my mobile number? [2]Does GiffGaff literally just offer O2's network (so the coverage and speeds are identical etc) [3]Is the internet REALLY unlimited if it says it's unlimited -[4] can you also use the Android hotspot thing?(where you turn a 3G signal in to a local WiFi)? [5]Can you topup with O2 vouchers?(I saw a thread about this but couldn't conclude whether or not it still works) [6]Do all shops allow you to ask for a GiffGaff voucher yet - or just a few? [7]With referal points (e.g. 1000 points) can you buy a £10 topup(with unlimited internet etc) - [8]do the points expire? [9]If I order the SIM today will I always have the same terms (same amount of texts and internet ect?) [10]Does the SIM work with O2 locked phones - or just "unlocked/SIM free" phones?

Few that's all the questions I can think of for now :smileytongue:

Thanks for reading and sorry there are so many questions!

p.s I added number references :smileytongue:

[11]Also with a £10 goodie bag do you also get the £10 credit? (like with O2 where you get the bonuses as well as the credit)

"No you have to spend your credit to get the goody bag buys it well worth it"

Can you manage with just the £10 goodie bag? Or do you find yourself unable to call certain people etc?

(( Thanks for the replies btw :smileyhappy: ))

Edit: "I think 4 is no. That would be tethering."

So you can't use hotspot apps at all? Kinda seems pointless to have the apps if most networks disallow their use :smileytongue:

What I mean is do you lose some functionality, such as the ability to use voicemail, send texts abroard, ring paid phone numbers (A cinema, for example, might charge £1 a minute plus your network charge (which would be free)) or send a text on the 31st day (after 1 month).

Also can you set it so that GiffGaff automatically purchases a package (the £10 one) if the correct sum of money is available in credit?

Thanks again :smileyhappy:

Re: Thinking of switching from O2 to GiffGaff soon

oh sorry never understood you the first time, yes you will lose that

when you sue up all of your goodybag you will be required to top up again so that you have credit for emergency calls etc

yes just click auto topup (which is on my giffgaff)

and when it has enough money you can queue goodybags :smileyhappy:

also if your answer to the question has been answered, please click 'accept as solutuion' to the answer which answered your question so that in future the answers are not repeated

and so people now which answer is the solution :smileyhappy:

thankyou :smileyhappy:
