[Edit]
When I originally posted this I hadn't realised it related to a separate charity venture and not the normal charity vote.
Sorry for the misunderstanding and had I realised it was a staff fundraising effort I would probably have treated it a bit more helpfully.
Of course, it's still unnecessary to be using a site that requires a google login when there are probably plenty of ways of performing a vote. So I've deleted the opening line and I already said in the original "its probably too late on this occasion" but the rest needs to remain to remind peole not to use google services unnecessarily in future activities.

"If it's google, it's spyware".
Surely there's some other way this could have been handled without needing a google ID ? And how does a google ID prove that the voter is a giffgaff member anyway?
Google needs to be phased out wherever it's used, especially where it is used unnecessarily as it was in this case. There are plenty of other ways to vote, which do not require google IDs.
Its probably too late on this occasion but please giffgaff, use a bit more common sense in future. Don't use google services where alternatives exist. Don't use google code on web pages, or if you must, make sure it contains no spyware and is rehosted properly on your own server to reduce the amount that google can spy on us.
