I have been with GiffGaff for sometime now, origianly on the £10 then £7.50 now £5 goodybags. However I am now seeing as mentioned, other companies offering more, for £5. In our house there now are 3 of us on the £5 goodybags (me, wife and teenager) my youngest is about to get his 1st mobile and phone number, taking it to 4.
While the obvious advantage was the free giffgaff to giffgaff calls, who calls each other these days? We rarley do! its all texts and DM (on Wifi). I think the £5 goodybag needs revisiting.
I am currently looking at family palns, what a minefield.
I work for the NHS and my trust now has this scheme, so I may bugger off and leave my family on giffgaff lol as I am a trust mobile user and my personal phone is dual sim.
"The ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) scheme that has been introduced within the Trust offers a number of benefits for staff. For around £7 a month (to be reviewed annually), the Trust will provide a SIM-only deal which would give staff unlimited voice calls (not international/premium), unlimited texts and unlimited (with a fair use constraint) 4G data. This is for personal and work-related calls/data/texts and avoids staff having to carry a personal device and a work device. Staff would be responsible for purchasing their own handsets, accessories, insurance etc (which they may choose to do through the Trust Salary Sacrifice scheme, or through other options) but in terms of the monthly ongoing cost of a mobile contract, this offers a significantly cheaper option than equivalent high-street deals."
