same here i think.. had puzzled car driver trying to melt the frost on her windscreen with windscreen wipers, was making horrible squeaking noise..
I was up anyhow and went to door to see what the horrible noise was, thought maybe building work up road but that's what it was and nearly went over to say to them just have a kettle with LUKEWARM water - not hot - and that will magically melt it without cracking windscreen, hand hot, test it with finger etc...
Hubs been doing that for years and grew up in derbyshire where they get proper winters not like our fuddy duddy ones. Flake of snow and everyone panics down here.
Remember following a van once and all their snow slid off roof, were doing 40-50 on icey road in countryside. It totally covered our windscreen. Hubs took it all in his stride, slowed down rather than braked sharply and no accident. Really I guess people ought to sweep their roofs before setting off, could avoid a nasty crash!
ps at least plain warmish water better for environment than chemical sprays that end up on road, not sure what they put in, alcohol I expect?
wonder what they would have said if had gone over.. people don't always appreciate advice, you never know if someone will get funny about it. They probably thought who's that old witch just watching us lol!
