I can't work out the math, was that dinner time?
Wow those chest of drawers are lovely - wonder how they make them, is it papier mache?
Amazing what can make out of it.. mate did a whole menagerie of animals and the dogs and cats used to end up in pubs all over the place here.. he was a constant painter, again his pictures everywhere, sadly passed last year.
I love those old papier mache boxes with the mother of pearl inlay, tables and all sorts of shapes of things. So beautiful.
Picked up a dustpan and brush made that way, bit damaged but the gold paintwork on it is exquisite, I'm guessing 1880 but it could be even older - and the bristles still work.
Last hairbrush I bought packed up after 2 years, knobble ends were breaking off and leaving sharp ends that tore at hair shaft. Last 3 bath brushes went mouldy after a week - just made out of the wrong wood, too pourous?
These look solid. Are the drawer fronts covered in fabric, looks a bit like that?
