Hi, it’s Paddy again with an update on our preparations for GDPR, which comes into force on 25th May 2018.
We've been pretty busy and during the month of May we’ll be making a few changes to giffgaff.com.
The contact permissions section of My giffgaff will be updated to provide a greater choice of options, giving members more flexibility to decide what they want to hear about. Note that there is no change to essential service communications such as purchase confirmations or goodybag expiry reminders: members who prefer no communication at all should follow the same process as today by raising a case through Ask an Agent.
When registering with giffgaff, new members will now be asked if they want to hear about giffgaff updates and offers. When a member registers while activating a SIM, for a short period we’ll be testing different designs for subscribing to updates and offers. Not everyone will see the same design. We'll see which design new members prefer and then we'll make that one permanent.
In a few weeks we’ll be adding some new forms to Ask an Agent for members to raise data rights requests.
I’ll send a further update as we roll out the changes.
