New Ofcom regulations coming into force in October 2018 will require a telephone number to be made available for complaints.
Consumer protection regulations from BIS (now BEIS) require that number to start 01, 02, 03 or 080.
@ian011 Do you know whether the regulations say that from October 2018, the telephone complaints line must be staffed?
Could it for example be a voice mail only service. Members leave a complaint just as they do on the complaints email service. Subsequently staff would review telephone complaints as they do now, with those by email and reply by email or agents message and not by telephone.

Slightly off topic, I noticed London Underground carriages carry a CCTV warning poster with a message that further information can be obtained by calling 0845 *** **** I thought as a customer of LU that the number should be 01, 02, 03 or 080.
