I think the guidelines/code of conduct were explicit in stating that people should not post content they didn't create unless they have permission from the owner to do so.
From the perspective of individuals people are stupid enough to ignore copyright law they deserve everything they get. Copyright law is basically common sense. If you don't own it and don't have permission to take and/or share something, don't take and/or share something.
It is literally the most idiot proof law that there it.
I was posting more because I'm concerned that giffgaff may be negatively impacted as a result of people ignoring copyright law as if people do that giffgaff could be targeted in the courts, their relationship with Lithium may be effected to if content owners find their content here and send the take down notice to Lithium who would be forced to comply.
It was just a heads up to be vigilant and proactive to the company so they don't have content owners coming after them because some fool has has decided that the law shouldn't apply to them and has posted content to the forum servers they don't have the rights or permission to do so.
Someone posted my stuff here or anywhere else without my permission, translated into English and I'd go after the individual rather than the company, but some might go after both and if the content has been left up for some time, giffgaff would be liable for financial penalties which frankly isn't fair.
I don't normally advocate reporting, but if you see someone posting something that they've clearly copied without permission from another source, report it so the moderators can look into it and if it's not covered by one of the exceptions, can get rid of it and protect the company.
