, but considering this is a service issue there might be a bigger discussion to have whether we add service issues to that thread or not. Considering the fact that helpers can and should subscribe to the Service issue board, does it make sense to have that on the Update thread as well?
Since the two updates are different- the changes we make are permanent whereas a service issue is temporary and a service thread will give helpers all the info they need. The reason we decided we need this thread, besides making sure helpers are aware of changes, is that sometimes, when we announce a changes we don't need to go into as much technical details as a helper would need.
Subscribing to the Service Updates board would not have helped in the instance, as the article I posted about was (and still is) in Announcements, therefore any helper subscribed to the Service Updates board may have missed it.
Perhaps I missed something, but I thought the purpose of this new thread was to acrt as a one-stop shop to keep helpers in the loop with changes - does it really matter whether those changes are temporary, short-term or permanent? They could all require adjustments to the advice given to members seeking help.
