I'm Rayelle, the Brand exec, and have some super exciting news to share with you lovely lot.
As you might already know, we've seen that TV Sponsorship is a fantastic way for us to get the giffgaff name out in the world. It gives us the opportunity to share our wondrous community with the UK, and what makes it (and you) so special. 'How?' you might ask. Well, rather than simply sponsor shows, we watch then along side the audience. We make friends, we live tweet, and live the moment of the show. Exactly as the fans of shows do.
Not only that, but is a driver for folks to go online and become members if they weren't already, which we've seen happen with the success of The Voice and The Crystal Maze sponsorships. Hooray!
Because of all that stuff, we have worked our socks off to secure another TV sponsorship of a brand new show called The Circle on Channel 4. It's a super exciting reality show. Here is a write up from the Channel 4 press release
to help paint the picture of the show's
concept for you:
In The Circle individuals from all walks of life will compete in a popularity contest. They will all live in one modern block but separately in individual apartments, interacting with one another exclusively through a bespoke voice-activated social media platform called The Circle.
Like many people using social media today, The Circle will enable them to chat, make friends, argue and maybe even fall in love. Building their own profiles, contestants will only get to know each other from what they choose to reveal via The Circle. They will be able to communicate as a group or individually, allowing cliques to form and private allegiances to be made.
Popularity matters and all will be trying to avoid being judged least popular by the rest of The Circle. Throughout the contest the competitors will rate each other with whoever is liked the least running the risk of being ‘blocked’ and removed from The Circle. It is only when someone is 'blocked' that the others will learn about who they have really been interacting with. Will they turn out to be who they said they were? How will each member of The Circle play the game and stay popular and will the other competitors believe their hype?
It will start mid September and airs nightly for 3 weeks, with a break on Saturday night. We will keep you up to date on the specific date when we have it so you don't miss it.
So join us for a chinwag, as we'll be watching the show every night (apart from Saturday), live tweeting with the #TheCircle. If you're lucky, one of your tweets may even appear on the telly too (with your permission of course).
