As a very new member of Giffgaff might I make two little suggestions that could help other people, similar to me, who are wary of not having any form of 'voice' contact with a supplier.
Firstly. In the section where new members 'sign-up' make it more plain that care needs to be taken over 'Username' since can not be changed later. I got caught out here, and given better warning, I would have given greater consideration to the Username I used.
Secondly. When newbies have activated their new SIM and then entered their PAC code to bring their existing phone number in, it be made clearer on the e-mail saying success in transferring the number, it should be much clearer that now there might be a long wait (several hours perhaps) for FULL activation of ALL aspects of the SIM / Number. Tell us to keep our old SIM in our phone untill the 'Emergency Calls Only' message appeares letting us know the old one is dead at which point put new sSIM in and re-boot phone, then all things should be working. Had I been given this simple (true) information I would been much more relaxed about what was happening
These are simple things to add to the information being given out already. Some of us are not readily adept at using the Community and so on. That will take time for me I know. I am an older person so perhaps have a different view on such subjects? (nearly 70).
Otherwise the transition has been mainly pain-free.
