In Celorico Da Beira the cheese capital of the Beira Region they do a delicious half sheep, half goat semi hard cheese. Perfect for slicing and eating with plain (home baked) bread..but warmed up it goes soft and gooey and is perfect for dipping crusty bread in.
I do miss those autumnal evenings, watching the sun go down, scoffing cheese.
Sao Pedro also does a cheese festival, celebrating the advantages of curds. Truly delicious.
