I was with Orange/EE and decided to move to giffgaff on 10th May. A friend who is on giffgaff had a free sim (I am telling you this in case this is the problem, but hopefully not!).
I did everything I was asked, PAC number etc I chose my bundle and filled in the online form for change of number (ie I wanted to keep my previous mobile number).
I received all the online confirmations from giffgaff and "welcome to giffgaff". And that my payment would start from that day, 10th May.
Then I got a message saying number transfer would be active from 14th May.
All this time I had no network at all, but I wasn't worried because I thought it would all happen on 14th. Nothing happened. I tried switching my mobile on and off at least 8 times during the day. At one point it said it woud reboot in safe mode. I said yes because there was no other way of turning the power off except to say yes, but it did say it would go back to normal as soon as I switched on again. And in fact all looks normal EXCEPT that today 15th MAY (5 days after I joined and paid!!) I still have no giffgaff network.
I tried giffgaff support site but the choices are not exactly my problem. However I chose the closest which was transfer of number. I got a reply confirming that my number has been transferred. But I don't know how to solve the problem of no giffgaff network! (I tried ringing my number from a landline and it goes through to the voicemail "welcome to giffgaff" but this is probably only because my sim is giffgaff? My phone says I have no network. I cannot send texts or do anything except via WhatsApp. This is urgent now so I will be so very grateful if someone can reply.
