A while ago I mentioned Stainless steel drinking straws as a more environmental friendly straw and a few people were interested in them. Just to let people know Aldi now have them back in stock. They are showing two different prices though.. Pack of 4 with mini cleaning brush at £2.99 or pack of 4 with mini cleaning brush for £3.49. Keep one with you in a food bag to keep it clean to use while out. Means no more plastic straws or soggy paper one.
I've seen bamboo ones in a trendy clothes/ gift shop in lewes, can't remember price though..
Do we really need straws apart from for medical reasons for a few?
Is lipstick more important than the natural world?
If carrying a waitrose reusable cup round could probably just tip a drink into that...
It is shameful when a bar will still issue straws as a matter of course without asking if you really need them..
Dunno why they can't be made of biodegradable stuff that just breaks down, someone within a year of the debate had apparently invented something - but never heard any more. Expect the patent got bought up by existing plastic straw companies with little recognition for him. Was young chap, probably just out of college.
