The problem to which @dtuxcomp and I were referring was that of negative notification numbers, where the number of unread notifications actually decreases below zero instead of just cancelling each notification in turn as read. Currently more likely scenario is reading all the notifications and still the number shows more unread!
I hadn’t thought about the pointless competitiveness in Games Forum, normally avoided by myself as well!
Of which I have recently been guilty, in “Girls vs Boys” where start at 500, male reduce by -2, female increase by +2, until 400 or 600 reached and reset to 500. When I personally got to 600, I stopped ‘following’ although I have been guilty of the occasional post. Not so much ‘post padding’ on my part as trying to encourage some who were trying out new platform in what I saw as a ‘less threatening environment’ than the ‘cut and thrust’ of dynamic opinionating.
As Flarum doesn’t support Groups the ‘Games Forum’ is now a tag or ’sub tag’ of the General Discussion Tag. As such, it can be hidden from your view. I’ve not yet done that but you might like to do it. Personally, if I were to want to hide threads I’d hide all Brexit arguments, anti-Trump threads, and pointless jokes and memes as well! But as I generally look out for H&S orphans and ‘flag’ them for support, hiding anything might be counterproductive.
