Based on this form your original post in Oct 2019
drcool I have today been charged £10 for another month of Goody Bag.
then this payment should have sufficed to keep your account active for the following 6 months. ie up to round about April 2020.
So there should have been no need to send a text.
However as you tried but failed the explanation may be as simple as that you have no Airtime Credit Balance so when you write
drcool It is saying though that I no longer have any funds available which is strange as I had ample sitting there previously
did you actually add Airtime Credit as a separate thing (it is not the same as a goodybag)?
If not then that would explain your inability to send the text.
If you did then you may have left your Mobile Data enabled and once you put the sim in the phone it could well have used any Credit to pay for data it was using to carry out system functions etc.
Which if you had only added a tenner would not have lasted long as at the Toaming rate of 20p per MB you only have needed to use 50MB before it ran out.
For someone in your position the best way of keeping your sim alive is to
- add Airtime Credit to the account at least once every 6 months
- Don‘t use the sim at all - in fact don’t insert it into the phone until you get to the U.K to,prevent it using any of your credit
- When about to travel to the U.K. either buy a new goodybag directly (do it online) and keep the credit for calling home as Interantional calls are not included in goodybags or
- Use the accumulated credit to convert into a goodybag.
If you always use the add credit option as the means of keeping your sim active you should never lose it as it has no expiry date (as long as you keep the sim active!) so it will always be available for use whenyou come to the U.K.
Hope that makes sense?
