stephenpperry @pw6049 - thank you so much for bringing this issue to our attention. We have spent a few hours this morning and have identified the issue.
Yesterday we pushed a small bug fix update to our app, version 5.5.1. As this was the first time we have pushed our app this year in iOS13 - we unfortunately run into the issue with dark mode.
The reason we have had this issue is because Apple have released a latest version of XCode - which made it mandatory for the app to be in dark mode. By default Apple applied dark mode to our app, however as you know we currently don't support dark mode.
As a fix we have disabled dark mode manually within our app , and sent a new version for update to Apple for final review. Members within the next 24 hours hopefully will see a new app update available within app store labelled with Version 5.5.2 which will have fixed the dark mode issue, and therefore they will be able to use dark mode and giffgaff app as normal on their phones. Please note that the giffgaff app is not in dark mode - and we are exploring at looking to introduce this feature in the future.
In the mean time while the fix is being approved by Apple.
If you have ios 13 with dark mode and wish to use the giffgaff app , we recommend to put "Light Mode" on. The positive thing is all the functionality of the app works fine, be it the experience being a bit funky.
Thanks again for giving the heads up 🙂
