jacquelinefleming Thank you for contacting the giffgaff Community.
If you are leaving giffgaff and moving to another service provider and want to keep your current Mobile Number then you will need to request a PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) from giffgaff in order to give it to your new provider to transfer your Number over to them.
Once issued, the PAC is valid for 30 days (after which it expires). Once you transfer your number out you will permanently lose any remaining giffgaff airtime credit, goodybag and payback points you've accumulated.
Simply text the word ‘PAC’ to 65075 and get their PAC code within 60 seconds before handing it to their new provider to begin the switching process and keep their mobile number.
Alternatively.... To start this process you can also goto https://giffgaff.com/profile/details/requestpac
You can also receive your PAC code to give to your new provider by dialing 43431 from your handset.
After requesting the code by phone or online, it'll show under your username on your my giffgaff page (https://giffgaff.com/dashboard) and be valid for 30 days, after which it'll expire and you'll need to request a new one
Ask for your giffgaff account to be shut down: https://support2.giffgaff.com/app/ask/GDPR-Rights-%28General-Data-Protection-Regulation%29/Right-to-get-your-data-deleted/form/
Turn off recurring goodybag and auto topups, and remove all payment methods
After 6 months non-activity - the SIM will be deactivated and the number recycled if not ported out Any unused credit would be lost.
