i_am_sy The other thing I have seen members claim on the forum is that best answer are being set less frequently, which did seem to be true and now you have confirmed it to be the case, i think it's pretty positive news though if that is the only area out of those that needs to be improved.
Probably worth breaking this stat down a little. Best Answers being set by thread OP's are the most visible ones - they tend to get set within a day, or at worst two, of the thread being started, and they have a tendency of also having additional replies on them that float them back into the visibility.
We also have a lot of BAs that get set by either staff or a small group of volunteers. These are usually set on threads that have not had any replies in the last 4-5 days, and thus it's easy to not notice that they have been set.
When we look at the overall number of BAs being set on the new platform, the number remains very healthy - with the caveat that BAs set by OPs are down. But we're confident we know why, and we'll get it resolved soon.
blackfive460 The one thing I have noticed is that there seems to be more engagement from staff. Long may that continue.
A large part of this is down to significant improvements in efficiency for the Educators. As an example, in Lithium if Post A was a bit dodgy, and 5 people reported it, the Eds would receive 5 separate reports, and they would be mixed up amongst other reports (unless all 5 came in simultaneously). This could at times cause at best inefficiency (closing and filing all of the reports), but could at worst create duplication of effort and even on occasions break things or result in conflicting actions being taken.
On the new platform, all of the reports for a single post are collated into a single entry. They can be handled by a single member of staff, and closed/filed in a single action. That's just one example, there's others as well. All in all, it means the Eds have more time to spend interacting positively on the community.
Throw in some new team members, and my Dev team (slowly, but surely) starting to post to the community (eg the Dev diaries) and it all starts to add up.
roxy_r Regarding the way to find your help thread, I know we managed to get that into the Help hub before the migration. Let me see where we are with it being back. Or is your thinking that it would be better on the forum itself?
I'd argue it's best to have both solutions restored, to cater for the fact there's a couple of different 'entry' points for members. Going to have to be super vague on timelines for the moment - we need to finish up the first phase of tidying up Private Discussions, and get the Elastic Search solution up and running.
