kaisha1919 Hi, I had my phone stolen over the weekend whilst I was away on holiday .. I reported my sim lost / stolen on the giffgaff app when it happend and it said I should have a new one arriving soon, I’m just wondering will my new sim have the same number as I had & would you be able to tell me if it’s defiantly been sent out ? Only because I have a new phone but obvisouly no sim so just curious. Thanks x
giffgaff will send you a new, special replacement SIM by first class post. This comes in an envelope marked "Oops, dont worry, we'll get you back on track", which is preconfigured with all your account details, including phone number and any goodybags or airtime credit. For security, your account will be barred (in case some dodgy ne'rdowell finds your lost SIM), and only activating the special replacement will lift the bar. This normally happens automatically within 12 hours of activation.
Unfortunately, SIMs are sent untracked, but first class post usually arrives in 1-2 working days. You'll probably get it tomorrow (though in some difficult locations it may be the end of the week).
