3 Projects coming up in October 2019
Hey folks! I hope you’re all well on this chilly autumn day.
As a member engagement manager here at giffgaff, I enjoy working with a lot with our teams to bring members closer to the projects they are working on. It’s been an incredibly busy and lively year but the most exciting part is that we’ve been able to co-create and collaborate with more members than ever before. By having the community member and members from giffgaff pioneers involved, together we’ve been able to release new changes at an amazing rate. Nice one.
Now we’re nearly getting to the end of 2019 but it won’t stop here. So today I writing this post to let you know about 3 projects that you can get involved over the next few months. Including early 2020. (Ooooh.) This way you can choose which projects you would like to get involved in, or to just stay in the know.
Please bear in mind that post will change over time to include links and useful dates but I’ll indicate what’s new and reply to the thread with the updates too.
That’s right. We’re planning on running a 6-week experiment with 5 members to test the new 5G network within specific cities that O2 have launched 5G in. Those cities are London, Belfast, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Leeds and Slough. (I know Slough isn’t a city, but that is where O2 is based, so it made sense to launch there.)
It will be a fun experiment with daily and weekly catch-ups. What’s really exciting is that this experiment will determine what our 5G offer will be in the future when it rolls out to giffgaff. Pretty cool hey?
More details about this experiment will be available later in November.
The new giffgaff app
Earlier in the year, we emailed a selection of members who said they’d like to help get involved in testing the new giffgaff app and we’ve learned a lot from them and their feedback. We even improved some of the technology of the app to make the experience even better. Soon, we’ll be releasing an open beta of the app. And in true ‘run by you’ spirit, we’d like you to tell us what you think..
Although it will still appear to be pretty bare, we want you to tell us:
- whether you like or dislike how it currently looks,
- How easy is it to use?
- What absolutely needs to be in the app that’s currently missing?
- And any incredible or wild ideas you have to improve it
We’ll be pushing the new beta app live very soon so watch this space.
Tesco Store Mystery Shopper (Updated, 29 October)
We’ll be trying out something new here. We have a partnership with Tesco and we want to gain more understanding of how many stores have a SIM stand and how often those stands are stocked. We're now looking for members to volunteer to be a mystery shopper. Check out the thread here.
We originally said we'd like you to replenish the SIM stands but we reconsidered this approach. This means if you do visit a store you don't need our permission, and we just need a couple of pictures from your visit and then you can leave. Easy peasy.
Watch this space
There we have it. These are 3 projects we are working on over the next few months and in early 2020. We’re really keen to have you involved so I will be editing this post to let you all know how you can get involved over the coming weeks and month.
