Afternoon everyone, and a warm welcome to another edition of our dev diary 🙂
It's been a little quieter than usual in the team this week, with @alex_w enjoying some time off, and @tariqthedev being taken ill - get well soon Tariq!
Let's dig in and take a look at what we have been working on...
@andrewdyer has been continuing to refine the way our community handles private messages/discussions, building on top of the improvements he rolled out a couple of weeks ago.
In particular, he's added various sorting options to the PD pages, so that you can better organise and find what you're after.
@harrycollins97 and @annesolano have been both working on how to further improve the design on the community, giving close attention to the mobile view, as well as tablet & desktop. Whilst we don't have anything further to show just yet, next week we'll start to trickle out some of the improvements...
Bugs, be gone!
Our newest team member, @ajapayne has been working on two problem areas this week; making some changes to our swear/word filter to better detect postcodes, as well as adding many items into the whitelist (ie Ratesetter contact email, phone numbers), amongst other items.
He's also fixed an annoying issue raised by @harrrrrry whereby images uploaded to the community containing exif data were not being displayed at the correct orientation.
I've been working on the very beginnings of bringing back the stats page to your profiles. I'm currently testing a raw version with the Educators, containing just a few data points at this stage:
I'm sure it won't be long before we apply the giffgaff theming over it and release it out to the wider community 🙂
Over the past couple of days, I've also been investigating reports of some members not being awarded the correct amount of payback, compared to their community activity and historical awards. I've almost finished gathering the information I need for this, before presenting my findings to the relevant teams here at HQ. Further updates to follow in due course on this one..
That pretty much wraps up us for the week, have a great weekend everyone.
