123kingarthur I understand why but unfortunately it's likely the changes will go ahead anyway.
Seen a similar situation a couple of times at work, .the employer has just gone ahead regardless.
The unions' teeth were blunted because they were some that used to go on strike at the drop of a hat
I absolutely understand why and think they need to retain guards but that won't change anything as it's all down to cash just like anything.
I am a Union member but have never voted for a strike because if I withdraw my labour and the employer is forced to get people to cover my function, they can say 'oh we don't need you anymore, bye bye'
