If you are registered with the Telephone Preference people and receive a call saying they are about to activate your account and saying you will never receive another nuisance call, it is a scam. The Indian man named "SAM" asked me "for security reasons" for the end date on my bank card I said it was 10/20 - but it wasn't that - so he said that the date was invalid and asked for the long number on my card YEAH RIGHT. I decided to have a game with him. I asked if this. was a paid for service and he said no, so I said why did he want the long number on my card, he said it was for "security reasons and it wasn't my personal information., and he would give me his long number if I wished. I decided to have some fun at his expense, I said that the long number WAS my personal information he said "no no no" I said "yes yes yes" lol, and I asked hm to hold on while I called my bank. He said OK, I put the phone on the table and rang my bank from my mobile on loudspeaker, before it started ringing I asked if he was still there, he said he was. As the bank answered he put the phone down. I then called the Telephone Preference people who confirmed it is a scam. There is another scam regarding Amazon Prime who ring you about your account, they called my daughter and she doesn't even have Prime.
