So who's drawn the short straw and is working over the Christmas period. My Rota is Mon Tue Wed 52 weeks a year, so I'm sitting in a Gatehouse 0600/1800 all on my lonesome with my tablet for company lol. What about my fellow Giffgaffers do tell your tales please. 😂
pauldunbar1234 I did, when I was a hospital porter. Married men with families used to fight to do the morning shift. Treble time... out of the way while their wives did the cooking... then home for the afternoon of eating and drinking.
pauldunbar1234 I'm not sure yet.
pauldunbar1234 I'll get a few days off other wise working
pauldunbar1234 its a No for me.

That's a shame Paul🙁🙁
I'll be breaking up on the 20th December and going back to work on 6th January
Merry Xmas 🎁🎁
I have manage to book annual leave, so now work for me, off from the 23rd till after Christmas 😀😀😀🍾🎉🎉
I'll be on shift on Christmas day from 09:00 to 18:00. In my case I requested the shift as I don't celebrate Christmas, so figured it was better me doing it than someone who would rather have the day off.
I'm looking forward to chatting to anyone here on the day!
For all of you working or volunteering over Christmas I applaud you and hope you are able to spend at least some time with your loved ones.
Days 29th and 30th And nights 31st and 1st Jan ,
_Not looking forward to the two night shifts
r29ssy Only good things I like about it is not being involved in the annual arguments plus double pay result lol 👍
r29ssy 'Not looking forward to the two night shifts'
I hated night shifts when I did them one week out of three. Plays havoc with your digestion and sleeping patterns.
r29ssy She has few shifts, but she has got use to it over the years.
I am working over Xmas apart from Xmas and Boxing Day
pettsey Just means my wife making Christmas dinner all by herself this year result my dinner in microwave when I get home unless my son in law brings in to work for me in his car 😜
I struggle sleeping past 3-4 hrs after a night shift , and after 2 days followed by 2 nights my body clock is all over the place .
r29ssy I know how you feel
I'm volunteering over Xmas. I think that counts.
Christmas eve. Christmas day. Boxing day then home it is.
theashcooper Well done you what you volunteering for soup kitchen or sumat 👍
The local OAP luncheon club is putting on a dinner for those with no family, and I have been roped into being a taxi, as I can drive a minibus due to having an older driving licence with the correct rights. No sherry for me until the evening I am afraid.

I'm performing for the homeless in hull. as well as helping out with the distributon of food and clothing.
Finish on the 23rd Dec and back in on the 2nd of January for me, but the wife will be working, I will be glad to get back to work after entertaining my boys for the holidays arrrrrghhhh
