Hi so after spending quite a lot over the xmas period and january ive decided to do a low spend month . If anyone wants to join in that would be great !
So the rules for me are to make a list of meals i can make with items in the house (got about 24 😄 )
To try and keep my food spends to under a fiver a week - im allowed to go slightly over if i see heavily reduced items that can be frozen..
Ive still got fresh fruit and veg to eat up but after that i can use up tinned and frozen stuff .
If i want a drink on the go i can do it but need to use up loyalty points rather than real money
I can still get free items via shopping apps .
If i really need to i have a 10 tesco giftcard (got it for a fiver through groupon) and about 20 quid on my food warehouse card which i want to keep for reduced items and fresh produce.
So far i have spent 30p holland and barret on tofu (will get 30p back from snapmyeats)
20p tesco (will get 30p back on snapmyeats ) 18p morrisons (30P back) so its been a good start .
wki - 10.90 food (altho just under 7 was on the 1st before challenge started ) 3.50 clothes and 23.77 on a book bundle of over 90 ebooks = 38.17 (last year was 85.71
Quite happy with week 1 considering what i got includes smoothie bag , 1kg mixed veg, bread, bg tatties, bag onions ,bananas, 2xblueberrys,2xmango,strawberrys - dd well with yellow stickers . The books ive wanted a few of them for awhile and they normally cost round a tenner each.
Week 2 i might spend less however i can combine a few offers to get a fairly decent morrisons offer
i have my 10% discount so say for example i spend 40 quid
my discount makes it 36. i have a points offer for spend 40 get 5000 (fiver points) it counts it perfore discount .The 10% discount is back on airtime rewards which would give 3.60 back plus ha;ifax rewards would also give me 7% on the 36 quid spend (plus the normal points from various receipt apps) it comes down to i dont really need anything but i could buy cleaning and cupboard stuff
