Whilst the welcome Announcement goes some way towards helping some members, not all members can take advantage. The missing element as I see it, coming from giffgaff, is where members need to call fixed lines to access their GP, Pharmacist, or specialist Hospital, or Council departments on a more frequent basis since the coronavirus outbreak.
For some, 25p a minute, is a crippling cost, if they are using giffgaff paygo to benefit from free giffgaff to giffgaff numbers.
When members are in 'self isolation' they may have difficulty topping up by voucher, because firstly, they may need someone to physically buy the voucher for them, £10 gives members just 40 standard minutes, whereas prior to the recent increase members got around 66 minutes. And that extra giffgaff profit is coming from perhaps the poorest users of this Network, those who are without a goodybag cannot access inclusive unlimited calls.
I am not saying there is an easy solution to the call cost issue but it should be on your agenda.
I suggest that during this particularly uncertain time for members, giffgaff could give free access to landlines for 3 months on the same basis as they do, for giffgaff numbers.
That single action Ash, would be a constructive act, perhaps transforming the lives of those who are or feel the most vulnerable during this health emergency period.
