Let’s face it, folks; it’s not easy looking after a child! Since isolation, many of us are now our children’s teachers, keeping them engaged and helping them to continue learning at home. This can sometimes be challenging and stressful, especially if you're working at the same time.
Now, more than ever, we thought it would be really useful if we could get together and share a few useful resources and tips to support parents in keeping their children entertained and learning new things while we are all spending more time indoors.
To kick this off, we reached out to a good friend of ours, Lisa, who has spent a lot of time developing Digilearning - a registered charity that supports parents and teachers in encouraging and inspiring young people across the world to develop their talents in the digital space, opening more opportunities for them in the future. You can check out her wonderful survival kits over here https://digilearning.co.uk/digilearning-survival-kit/
If this is something you feel is useful, Lisa would be happy to share more learning tips with us and perhaps even have a Q&A on the community. We asked her for a rundown of topics she would be happy to speak more relating to digital learning and supporting parents and some of these are:
- Safety online, fake news, fake emails and tools to use to protect you and your family
- Your family and digital (includes creating a digital family contract, meditation and nutrition)
- Digital reputation and how to use social media
- Parenting tools for online safety you can use in the digital age
- Home schooling
We’d love to hear if you have any tips or recommendations of things you have tried that worked for you. I am sure that once we get together we will find that there is a lot of amazing advice we can share that will go a long way in making staying at home a bit more manageable and fun 🙂
Hope you are all keeping safe,
