Websockets would make it much simpler for members to receive help on the forum.
Currently, to see replies to their query, they have to refresh the page which isn't made clear to them.
From their eyes, they're sat watching a blank page with their question! Often, they end up going back to the home page and starting one, two or even more new discussions.
One way to fix this could be websockets. There's an extension on the Flarum community for this which costs $5 per month. Compared to other solutions, like Pusher who charge upwards of $49 per month, this is extremely cheap.
This extension already has implementation for other extensions we use on the community (like reactions and polls), as well as automatically adding posts to the end of discussions as they're sent, adding reactions as they're added, real-time polls, and live updates of notifications. Even better, no data ever leaves the server(s) Flarum is hosted on (except to be sent to users) which sorts a lot of GDPR headaches.
