Just read through this thread with great interest.
I’ve been saying for a while that GD has gone more towards social Media style postings, which puts me off, as I’m not interested in what someone had for their tea.
It’s grabbing members attention and intrest when starting a new discussion thread that’s the hard bit.
I gave up starting anymore, as there would be a few replies then it would drop into the giffgaff community black hole. It would be disheartening. And yet another member would have a similar subject getting loads of replies.
I do feel members have their favourites. I have a thread going on GD. I restarted an old thread of mine when lockdown appeared.
It’s just a light hearted look at life.
I cover many subjects. But I have to say sadly it does not have the popularity that I imagined it would have. It’s just a few regulars who pop on, to whom I am grateful, otherwise what would be the point.
GD used to be good for the variety of discussion posts, it was interesting to participate.
I do wonder if the ages of the members who post on GD has got younger and maybe that’s why I feel it’s swaying more towards a social media type forum.
Who knows. That’s just my 4peneth after being on the old platform, comparing the posting.
