When did you complete the steps to Activate the SIM?
If you have just registered or setup a new or replacement SIM or carried out a SIM Swap then this can take several hours to complete, it’s rarely instant and usually Data Service comes before (although this can vary) Calls and Text Services fully activate on your SIM. SIM activation usually takes 30 minutes to 4 hours, but in exceptional cases might take up to 24 hours.
Also, try restarting your handset periodically, this often helps to get service working too!
Phone Numbers are randomly allocated to new giffgaff SIM cards once they have been activated.
Once your SIM is Activated your number will be allocated to you and you will be able to see this in your Account Dashboard here: https://www.giffgaff.com/dashboard you can also text NUMBER to 43430 or to 2020 to get a text right back with your Number!
