As giffgaff doesn’t tie members into contracts like other airtime providers, you are free to change your GoodyBag type whenever you wish (with some restrictions).
If you have a GoodyBag set to recur, and you want to change it to a different one, you need to go to your Settings at https://giffgaff.com/profile/payment-details and change Recur GoodyBag settings (turn it off), then the system will allow you to select a new GoodyBag, which will activate when your current GoodyBag ends. You cannot set the new GoodyBag to recur until it becomes active.
As you’ve already paid for your existing GoodyBag, you’ll probably want to use it up first, or any remaining allowance would be lost, however, it is possible to start your new GoodyBag early when any of the following are true for your current GoodyBag:
- you have less than 100Mb of internet allowance remaining
- you are using an ‘Always On’ data GoodyBag and have received a text reporting that you have used your allowance of full speed data
If you decide that you do want to replace your current GoodyBag with the new one, you can do this from your MyGiffGaff page at http://giffgaff.com/dashboard where there will be a notification showing that your minutes and/or internet allowance is about to run out.
If you do this, your queued GoodyBag will start straight away, meaning you could then set it to recur.
It’s important to note that:
When you replace a GoodyBag, the old one is erased completely, meaning any minutes/text/data allowances are lost and do not carry over
Payment for the new GoodyBag is taken at the point when the GoodyBag is activated, not when the old one was due to expire
Once the process has completed, your new GoodyBag will be visible on your MyGiffGaff page.
