jenniferlaw I made toffee apple cake (for my own birthday 🤣) and then carrot cake for my mum. Next week I’m going to have a go at millionaires shortbread for the first time (wish me luck!) and then make one of my tried and tested ginger cakes.
Oh wow, they sound incredible! Best of luck for the millionaires shortbread, although I’m sure you won’t need it 🙂
suept Ahh, the icing sugar decoration is fantastic! I’ve never tried pumpkin pie before, so I will save that recipe to give it a go sometime - and the pear pudding one too, thanks so much for those. 🙂
jimvee288 I keep meaning to try to do a carrot cake but not too confident. I tried a cup made microwaved one off youtube it tasted great but was a total literal flop cake texture wise, so soon i’ll try a proper oven done one from a recipe i got off this forum, i’ll be asking for tips off folk shortly as i need to try to learn to bake things which i’m not so clever at
You’ve got this! 😀 I find microwave cakes are great for when you fancy a little treat and don’t have anything else made and ready to go, but they’re never overly cake-y in texture, so don’t worry about that. Carrot cake is delicious, great choice there and I’m sure you’ll do a smashing job of it. 🙂
kath72 although I buy the box of 15 mixed weight (free range) and some of them are small enough to count as half
That’s what I’ve been doing too. 😀 The only time I am not sure what to do with spare egg is when I’ve split them and only need the whites - if there are spare whites I normally make them into meringue, but if there’s spare yolk I never know what to do to avoid wasting those?
