Transferring my number to giffgaff
To bring your mobile number to giffgaff,
here's what you need to do:
1. Contact your current Service Provider
and request a PAC code as you want to
transfer (or port-out) your number to
another network. PAC codes are valid for
30 days from the issue date.
2. Make sure your giffgaff account and SIM
has been activated.
3. Log in to your account.
4. Once you've been given a PAC code, click
on the following "Keep my number" link
below this text providing the below
• An alternative contact number (just in
case we need to get hold of you)
• The mobile number you want to keep
• PAC code
• Mobile number for new giffgaff SIM card
• SIM serial number for new giffgaff SIM
5. You'll need to store any saved data from
your mobile. Ensure you have made a note
of any important numbers on your old SIM/
mobile, or any data from your message
folders, as well as calendar reminders as
these will not be transferred with your
mobile number and may be lost.
6. On the day of transfer (port-in)
You will experience a loss of service at
some stage between the hours of
approximately 9am and 9pm. As the
process is dependent on your old Service
Provider releasing your number, we cannot
offer assurances about the length of time
you will be without service.
Watch out for an error message on your
screen - when you lose service, you will see
an error message similar to 'SIM card
registration failed.' At this point, put your
new SIM into your mobile.
Keep switching your mobile on and off.
During the afternoon, switch the mobile off/
on several times - the act of switching the
mobile on causes a network search to start
- until the transfer is completed this search
will fail. When the number transfer is
complete we will send you an email
notification via My giffgaff, you will see
giffgaff on the screen after switching your

Select category (sim services) >
Then (No services) >
Tick all the boxes and now put relevant info
in the box ...
